Ford sells a lot of Edge SUVs, the number is somewhere around 150 000 on a yearly basis, so it is a very popular model. 2019 revamp isn’t a full-on redesign, but rather a modernization of the exterior and tech boost for the driver-assistance features that were seriously lacking in previous models. Edge offers impressing comfortable seating, has an 8-speed automatic stop/start technology and the awesome Ford Co-Pilot360 is now standard across all trim levels: the SE, SEL, Titanium, and newest additions –  the ST model that has replaced the Sport trim and the Titanium Elite. It’s a great car that will get you wherever it is you’re going, with comfort and style.

First things first: the Edge’s exterior is very distinctive and the color collection is perfection. The Stone Grey, the Performance Blue or the Burgundy Velvet are magnificent. There weren’t a lot of changes made to the overall design, most of the exterior elements are quite appealing as is, though front and rear bumpers were revamped a bit, the new grille and wheel design is on point, and the lighting elements look much better. As for the top-tier trim design the Titanium and ST have a few exiting accents like the LED fog lamps, the heated outside mirrors, gloss black grille with the logo or the body-color rear spoiler.

Even those who find the interior unexciting state that is very comfy and the overall layout is on point. Plus, if space is your luxury, you’re going to love this car. The seats are really big with pleasant soft-touch material upholstery. And the cherry on top: Edge provides unmatched peace and quiet. You’ll be baffled by the lack of sound while riding the vehicle and we have brands ‘Active Noise Control’ to thank for that. Materials quality are excellent and even the hard plastic panels are pleasant to the touch and are visually pleasing.

Edge’s performance is a perfect match for its impressive sporty design. The base trim turbocharged four-cylinder engine reaches 250 hp and is plenty powerful for most of the SUVs lovers. Though if you are looking for one of those cars that can be floored from zero to sixty in a matter of seconds – you need to ST with the 335 hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6.

Ford Edge Review

The new tech is inspiring; it looks like Ford spends a lot of time and money on the upgrades. The Edge has the most driver-assist tech in its class, all centered on giving the drivers more confidence behind the wheel. Ford now uses cameras and sensors to boost awareness of surrounding cars or any other objects. And at right in the center of the new tech upgrades is the very best Co-Pilot360 technology to help you avoid collisions.

The basic level trim will cost you 29 995 USD. As for the ST or the Titanium Elite, the price goes up to 42  355 USD.

Seat comfort in the Edge is something everyone agrees on – it is a definite plus. Though some think the design is a bit outdated, the comfort level of the two rows of spacious seats with plenty of legroom is an undeniable huge benefit. Basic trim models have the standard cloth upholstery and the more advanced models come with high-quality leather seats, heated, ventilated and power-adjustable (front row).

Climate Control System

The climate controls are comfortably placed on the central control panel, the crossover is equipped with a dual-zone automatic cc system. Additionally, temperature adjustable seats as well as the heated wheel are the things that’ll make you ready for anything the weather channel throws at you.

Infotainment System

A great infotainment is available even in the basic trims. It easily links to your smartphone and the voice command recognition is precise and doesn’t malfunction. Furthermore, brands amazing Sync 3 system is innovative and impressive: the 8-inch display, HR interface, and smartphone-style operation have won everyone over.

Storage and Space

There is no lack of storage. The car is massive inside and the cargo space in the higher trim Titanium is a 39.2 cu.-ft.

overall, the comfort level is superb: the cabin is luxuriously spacious with extremely comfortable seating and great CC system.

Seat comfort

Seat comfort is hands-down one of the best and highly praised features of the FE. You can drive to neighboring planet sitting in those seats.

Ride comfort

Ride comfort and handling control are excellent; the Edge is very pleasing to drive. It has a calm and a very relaxed demeanor we all appreciate in our daily cruising. As for the overall on-the-road performance: Edge is a pleasure to drive and the ride is comfortable even on bumpy roads.

The only issue with the ride quality is a well-known one among SUVs owners. There is the issue called the “head toss” that is very common and appears as a result of the higher center of gravity inherent in all SUVs.
